The South Dakota State Library will use funds to support the goals of their Five-Year Plan for FY 2023-2027, which reflect the purposes and priorities of the Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA). In South Dakota, specific goals address: 1) Institutional Capacity and Support - Stronger SD Libraries: providing resources and professional expertise to strengthen the ability of local libraries to meet the needs of their local communities; 2) Access to Information: providing libraries, citizens, state government agencies, special populations, and other key stakeholders with access to materials, electronic resources, and professional staff to meet the informational needs of all South Dakotans; 3) Lifelong Learning: offering access to information resources that support and promote continued lifelong learning; and 4) Human Services - Statewide Partnerships and Services: developing partnerships with state agencies, schools, libraries, and other appropriate organizations to provide services, activities, and educational opportunities for the state’s citizens to enhance knowledge, skills, and well-being.
