The Idaho Commission for Libraries will use funds under the American Rescue Plan Act to help communities respond directly and immediately to the pandemic, as well as to related economic and community needs through equitable approaches in digital inclusion and library services. They will continue to support the goals of their Five-Year Plan for FY 2018-2022. In Idaho, specific goals address 1) Building the institutional capacity of libraries to better serve their communities; 2) Supporting the role of libraries in preparing Idahoans to be college and career ready; 3) Ensuring equitable access to information and library services for Idahoans with disabilities, those in rural communities, English-language learners, people living in poverty, and other underserved communities; and 4) Supporting the role of libraries in economic and employment development.
