Contemporary Art Group

The Advancing Web Accessibility Standards in the Arts project will develop new tools and procedures to address the need for improved access to art-centric digital archives for users with disabilities. The team will convene a working group of experts from various communities to guide the development of interactive, responsive, and inclusive features that will allow for deep engagement with the content of digital archives for users with disabilities and that will account for the subjective, diverse ways people interact with art. The team will pilot these new features on the Contemporary Art Library website, a centralized online repository of contemporary art documentation, and generate materials to widely disseminate our findings, both within our field and more broadly across disciplines.
