Note: (a) denotes an amendment made outside of the original awardIn this proposal, we outline our approach to conducting a rigorous and responsive evaluation of CCI, including (1) our general approach to evaluation process and engagement, (2) data collection and analytic methods to address key evaluation questions, and (3) anticipated evaluation challenges and solutions. The evaluation approaches we propose in this grant application are designed to align with IMLS's learning needs at the portfolio level, enhance the resonance of the cohort?level evaluation findings for grantees, and increase the likelihood grantees, museums and libraries, will apply the cohort?level findings to future community engagement endeavors. We do the latter by infusing the design with innovative participatory processes at every stage, from design, through data collection, analysis and sense making. And we do this without overburdening grantees, by (1) capitalizing on existing data captured in documentation produced by grantees, the ABCD team, and local evaluators, and (2) working with IMLS to incorporate targeted participatory evaluation and learning processes into already?planned convenings.
