San Diego Botanic Garden

The San Diego Botanic Garden in Encinitas, California, will expand its program of free, regularly scheduled visits to the garden for racially and culturally diverse groups, students in after-school care, economically disadvantaged families, and seniors. In partnership with five social services agencies in San Diego County, the botanic garden will design interactive programs that meet the needs and interests of each partner group. The late afternoon programs will include interactive talks while participants move through the 37-acre garden, hands-on learning focused on gardening and the arts, and more. Activities will address the emotional distress and negative impacts on mental health that many people experienced during the pandemic.
